The Newfield Swim Club is OPEN
Newfield Swim Club
Thank you all for your continued patience as we have worked through the guidelines with Gloucester County Health Department on the opening of our swim club for the season. We are asking for your patience and help as we prepare for what at least for the early part of the season will be a different experience at Newfield.
The good news is that we are planning to open Newfield on June 22nd as per guidelines that have been put in place.
The GCHD (Gloucester County Health Department) has determined that Newfield can open at 50% capacity.
The recommendations have encouraged face masks when not able to maintain 6ft distance but are not required.
Pool hours of operation:
***Pool operations hours are subject to change due weather, or under the determination of the board. ***
Guidelines for Pool Members:
To allow for social distancing in the pool area, no pool chairs will be arranged around the pool as you are used to seeing. ( 6ft markers will be in place )
**** Baby Pool- This area is designated for parents to watch their children, please be mindful of where you are sitting.
We know that this is a lot of changes and The GCHD has informed us that as the virus infection level declines further, restrictions will continue to be eased.
We will likely be frequently updating pool operations and will communicate to members through our Facebook page and Newfieldswimclub.com to keep everyone informed.
We hope to see you soon!
Thank You, for your understanding
The Newfield Swim Club Board
What is the number allowed at the pool at one time?
After much research and meetings with the health board, we have concluded that the 50% capacity is 70 people IN the pool at our swim club.
Can we bring guests and can I have a birthday party at the pool?
Guests are limited to 1-2 guests per visit. Birthday parties are NOT permitted at this time. We will re-evaluate as the summer goes on and we look forward to bringing these great options back.
What are you doing about cleanliness at the pool?
Our guard staff will be diligently cleaning the pool bathrooms and surfaces every hour. We will also have hand sanitizer stations.
How will COVID-19 effect our pool’s social calendar?
This we be determined according to the state uplifting restrictions. We will revisit as we go forward with the season accordingly.
Is the playground open and can we use pool noodles/kick boards?
This is open for use, and is under family discretion. Social distancing is advised for group activities.
How will you enforce social distancing at the pool?
Our hopes are that members will want to protect themselves and the health of others by spreading out while on the pool deck. As for the actual pool, there are many reputable sources that indicate that chlorine (maintained properly in a pool) is an effective killer of covid-19).
